Richardson Finishes in Eighth at Administaff ASU Invite

Raleigh, N.C. - The NC State men's golf team concluded play at the Administaff ASU Invite, netting an 11th place finish at 11-over par (875). The Pack matched yesterday's team score with a 2-over par in Sunday's final round. After shooting a 7-over par in the first round, the PAck had matching rounds of 2-over par to close out the tournament.
Senior Jerry Richard shot a two-under (70) on the day, to place him in a tie for eighth place at the tournament. Richardson's final round included five birdies, and after shooting even-par in the first two rounds, he concluded the tournament with his best round of the season and finished at two-under par (214) for the tournament.
Chase Duncan and Nathan Spoon both finished with rounds of one-over par (73) on the day. Each netted a pair of birdies, and Spoon was the Pack's second-highest finisher in the tournament at 2-over par (218).
Rounding out the Pack golfers in Sunday's final round were Garry Hill and Andrew Byrd both with 2-over par (74) on the day. Hill tied Richardson with a team-high five birdies on the day, and Byrd had three himself.
The Pack will be off this coming weekend, then host the 2007 Courtyard by Marriott Intercollegiate April 13-14. This year, the tournament will be played at Devils Ridge Country Club in Holly Springs, N.C.
