Lucas Earns All-America Honors in 5,000 Meters

Raleigh, N.C. - Senior Julia Lucas earned All-America honors in the 5,000 meters at the 2007 Indoor NCAA Championships being held this weekend in Fayetteville, Ark. Lucas finished sixth overall with her time of 15:58.85, and earned her second career All-America honor (she earned the same honors during the 2005 outdoor season). Also in action on Friday, Jemissa Hess placed 15th in the mile with a time of 4:53.90.
Hess will have an opportunity to earn a second All-American results, as she races in the finals of the 3,000 meters tomorrow. Also in action, Mitchell Pope will compete in the shot put.
