Hill Nets Hole in One, Golf Moves Into Seventh

Raleigh, N.C. - The NC State men's golf team improved five strokes and moved up three spots in the standings, as the Pack shot a two-over par (290) in the second round of the Administaff ASU Invite in Augusta, Ga. NC State jumped into seventh place, and sits at 9-over par for the tournament.
Senior Garry Hill had the highlight of the tournament. Hill notched a hole-in-one on the par-three No. 17. Hill also led the Pack by shooting an even-par (72) on the day, which also featured two birdies.
Fellow senior Jerry Richardson tied Hill for the Pack's best round of the day. Richardson also shot an even-par (72), and had a team-high four birdies on the day. Richardson sits at even-par for the tournament, tied for 13th overall.
Nathan Spoon continued his impressive play, with a one-over par (73) in Saturday's second round. Spoon is tied for 20th place for the tournament, at one-over par.
Andrew Byrd matched Spoon with a round of one-over par (73), and Chase Duncan finished at two-over par (74).
Round three will be played tomorrow.
