No. 45 NC State (8-5, 0-3 ACC) will take on its final non-conference opponent of the regular season as the Charlotte 49ers come to Raleigh for a 2:30 p.m. match on Tuesday, March 20. NC State will took to rebound after some tough losses to highly ranked teams to start conference play. Daria Petrovic upset the No. 58 ranked player in the nation last Friday as NC State fell to No. 18 Wake Forest, 4-3, in its last outing.
Alejandra Guerra lost her opening set against the Deacons but rebounded for the win against Wake in a three-set match. Neils Barringer also won in three-sets, but NC State lost in a marathon doubles match that decided the team match in the heartbreaking loss.
The Pack will bounce back with the match against Charlotte. The probable lineup could include Petrovic at No. 1 singles, with Berkeley Brock, Alejandra Guerra and Barringer also playing a role in the lineup. Kate Green and Catherine Grotz are talented freshmen who have competed for the team this spring as well and could see time against the 49ers.
