Men's Swimming Sixth at ACC Championships After Second Day

Stephen Mellor missed All-ACC honors by one spot while turning in a NCAA 'B' Cut time in the 200 IM, finishing fourth with a 1:48.58. A number of other Pack swimmers also helped NC State hold on to sixth place with 116 team points after the second day of the ACC Championships in
Mellor 200 IM swim earned NC State 15 team points and was the second fastest time in school history.
Andrew Lester turned in a 4:28.84 in the 500 free during the prelims, his top time on the season before finishing seventh in the consolation final. His swim earned NC State two team points.
Kevin Woodhull-Smith turned in another strong performance in the 200 IM, topping his 1:50.76 in the prelims with a 1:50.41 to finish second in the consolation final and earn seven team points for the Wolfpack. His 1:50.41 makes him the seventh fastest swimmer in school history in the event.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Dan Glauber, Steve Cowling, Travis Martinez and Taylor Goodwin notched 22 team points with a 1:22.19, the fastest Wolfpack time in the event this season.
The ACC Championships continue through Saturday.
