Linkenauger, Women's Swimming Compete in 3rd Day of ACCs

Anna Linkenauger turned in the third-best time in NC State history in the 400 IM with a NCAA 'B' cut time of 4:22.46 as NC State is in 10th place after the third day of competition at the ACC Championships. Austin Hampton finished third in the 1-meter boards to earn All-ACC honors as well as both diving squads competed this week in Chapel Hill as well.
Linkenauger won the consolation final with her top-time, and Kathryn Creech turned in a 4:28.69, the eighth best performance in school history in the 400 IM.
Victoria Niemeyer swam a personal best time of 56.24, tied for the fastest time in the league, in the 100 fly to lead a trio of swimmers in the bonus consolation final. Martha Marino was close behind with a time of 56.77 and Patrice Dason was third with a 56.79.
Kerry Whitson, who was All-ACC after a third place finish in the 200 freestyle last season, turned in another solid time in the event with a season-best 1:50.87.
Marino also won the bonus consolation final in the 100 breaststroke with a 1:06.07, the fastest Wolfpack time on the season and a personal-best.
