No. 44 NC State Impressive Against Yale

The No. 44 NC State Wolfpack women's tennis team blew past Yale on Saturday at the
NC State split at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, with Alejandra Guerra and Daria Petrovic picking up another win to improve to 5-1 on the season as a tandem at No. 1. Berkeley Brock and Neils Barringer fell at No. 3 singles, setting up the stage for a dramatic Wolfpack win at No. 2 doubles. Kate Green and Julia Roach survived a furious rally from Rhee and Alford of Yale before holding on for the win, 9-7, as the Wolfpack took the doubles point.
Daria Petrovic, ranked No. 43 by the ITA, won at No. 1 singles to run her record to 3-1 at No. 1 singles. She won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.
Berkeley Brock ran through her opponent at No. 4 singles, taking her match 6-4, 6-2 over Christine Alford of Yale.
Catherine Grotz returned to the lineup and defeated Jessie Rhee at No. 2 singles. After winning the first set 6-1, she fell 6-2 in the second. With her match knotted up, Grotz was dominant in the final set, blanking Rhee, 6-0.
With the team match already secured for the Wolfpack, a NC State player would lose the only match of the day at No. 3. Guerra fell in a tough three set match, 6-3, 6-7 (3), 2-6.
Julia Roach and Kate Green would make quick work of their opponents at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively, with Roach winning 6-1, 6-0 and Green taking her match, 6-0, 6-1.
