M. Tennis Sends Four to Last Fall Tournament

NC State men's tennis will wrap up its fall season at the William & Mary Invitational by sending four players to Williamsburg, Va. over the weekend. Juniors Derek Stephens and Christian Welte will team in doubles in addition to competing in singles, and freshman Eric Turner will compete with graduate student Daniel Schinke. That pair will also play singles.
Stephens is 5-4 this fall in singles, including four wins in his last six matches. In doubles, Stephens is 3-2, all with Welte as his partner.
Welte is 5-5 in singles during the fall, and he has won four of his last six matches. In doubles, Welte is 6-3, including a 3-2 mark with Stephens.
Turner is 4-5 in singles and is also on a solid roll near the end of fall, winning three of his last five. In doubles, Turner is 3-1 with Welte as his partner. This is his first tournament with Schinke in doubles.
Schinke is 2-5 in limited action this fall in singles, and is 2-1 in doubles in his only appearance on the doubles court.
Stephens is 5-4 this fall in singles, including four wins in his last six matches. In doubles, Stephens is 3-2, all with Welte as his partner.
Welte is 5-5 in singles during the fall, and he has won four of his last six matches. In doubles, Welte is 6-3, including a 3-2 mark with Stephens.
