M. Tennis in Action at Crimson Tide Fall Invitational

NC State men's tennis had two singles players advance with wins at the Crimson Tide Fall Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Ala. on Friday. Christian Welte and Eric Turner won in singles, and they teamed up to advance to the semifinals of the consolation draw of the Red Doubles Flight.
Christian Welte defeated the tournaments No. 3 seed to advance to the quarterfinals of the Bryant Singles Draw. Welte downed Chris Racz of Tennessee, the nation's No. 85 ranked player, 6-1, 6-3 to advance. He will play Jordan Delass of Samford in the next round.
Rob Lowe lost in his opening match to Houssam Yassine of Alabama, 7-6 (6), 6-1.
Eric Turner defeated Nikola Miskovic in the Stabler Singles Draw with a 6-2, 6-2 win. He will now face Scott Blackmon of Georgia Tech in the quarterfinals.
Turner and Welte teamed up in doubles and fell to the hometown duo of Dan Buikema and Matt Thibaudeau of Alabama, 8-3.
The duo then advanced two rounds to the semifinals of the consolation side of the draw after defeating Jose Muguruza and Eliot Potvin of Ga. Tech, 8-5, and a bye. They will now face Phillipe Frayssinoux and Max Genuini of Mississippi State.
Tournament play resumes on Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
