Hojckova Advances in Women's Tennis Tournament

Chapel Hill, N.C. - Lenka Hojckova advanced to the next round of the Women's ITA Southeast Indoor Championship on Friday, Oct. 19 in Chapel Hill, N.C. Hojckova defeated Link Leskosky of Charleston, 6-4, 6-0, and will next face ACC foe Federica Van Adrichem of Clemson on Saturday.
Julia Roach also participated in the tournament, but fell in a close match to Catherine Newman of Vanderbilt, 7-6(1), 7-5. Daria Petrovic was prevented from advancing after battling Emilee Malvehy of Wake Forest into the third set. Petrovic fell 7-5, 6-7(4), 6-0.
Hojckova and Petrovic competed in the doubles event after receiving a bye in the first round. The duo took on Paty Coimbra and Lisa Wilkinson of Winthrop and emerged with the 8-4 win. The doubles tandem will compete on Saturday against Virginia Berry and Kelsey Linville from Davidson.
