Raleigh, N.C. –  No. 2 seed Jay Weinacker fell to Elon’s No.1 seed Damon Gooch in the Flight A singles championship at the Residence Inn North Wolfpack Invitational on Sunday, Sept. 17, in Raleigh, N.C. After dropping the first set, 6-3, Weinacker stormed back to control and win the second stanza, 2-6. But it was Gooch who threw the final blow, downing the Pack’s sophomore netter in the third and final frame, 6-4. Weinacker finishes the tournament with three solo wins and two doubles victories with partner Christian Welte.
