Blair Places Second, Pack 10th at Carpet Capital Collegiate

Raleigh, N.C. – The NC State men’s golf team used a strong performance from sophomore Darren Blair to place 10th overall in the Carpet Capital Collegiate in Rock Face, Ga, the first tournament of the year for NC State. Blair finished second overall, just one stroke off the lead, with a 10-under par for the weekend. The Wolfpack shot a 6-over par in Sunday’s final round, and finished at 2-over par for the three-day tournament.
Blair shot and even par (72) on the day, the first round of the tournament he did not shoot under par. Blair’s day included an eagle on the par five No. 12.
For the third straight day, Jerry Richardson shot a one-over par, and for the tournament finished at 3-over par. Also shooting a one-over par today was Andrew Byrd, who was at 8-over par for the tournament after shooting back-to-back rounds at one-over each of the last two days.
Nathan Spoon shot a four-over par today, and was at 6-over for the tournament. Freshman Brad Revell had a five-over in Sunday’s round, and was 15-over for the tournament.
