
Jessica Vincent Leads Pack to Top-10 Finish

Jessica Vincent fired a four-over-par 220 to finish tied for 14th at the Cougar Classic to lead the Wolfpack. The team finished 9th in the field, and was fourth among ACC teams in the field. Vincent fired a second round 70 to move into the top-10 of the individual standings after the second day of the tournament. The 2006 Cougar Classic was held Monday and Tuesday in Hanahan, S.C.
Stephanie Derrey (227) and Lauren Doughtie (227) tied for 39th, while Nancy Mountcastle (233) was 59th and Kristin Vincent (234) finished 60th.
Mountcastle fired the Pack’s best round on the final 18, carding a 73, the sixth best score of the day. Jessica Vincent, in the first round, and Derrey, in the third, both fired a 74 during the tournament.
The women’s golf team will return to action the weekend of September 30 for the Lady Kat Invitational in Kentucky.
