Going all the way back to their days as NC State teammates, it seems as if Carl Pettersson and Tim Clark have been shadowing each other. Heading into the final round of the British Open, they're doing it again. Both former Wolfpack golfers are six-under par through three rounds of Golf's third major championship of the year. Their 54-hole totals of 210 leave Pettersson and Clark seven shots behind frontrunner Tiger Woods, who leads the trio of Sergio Garcia, Chris Dimarco and Ernie Els by one stroke.
And although they're tied, Clark and Pettersson will not be paired with each other in Sunday's final round. Pettersson, who will be playing with U.S. Open champ Geoff Ogilvy, drew a 12:45 tee time, one group ahead of Clark.
On Saturday, Clark fired a three-under par 69, while Pettersson shot a 70.
