Now Stephen Tulloch can concentrate on nothing but football. Just a week before the start of training camp, the former NC State linebacker has agreed to contract terms with the Tennessee Titans, who selected him in the fourth round (116 overall) of April's NFL Draft. The Miami product, who declared for the NFL Draft following his junior year with the Wolfpack, will be in camp with at least one familiar face. Former Pack receiver Tramain Hall will try to make the Titans roster as an undrafted free agent.
The speedy Tulloch was a defensive force throughout his three-year career at NC State. Using blinding speed and quickness to his advantage, the 5-11, 235-pound outside linebacker played in a total of 35 games, recording 290 tackles, 40 tackles for loss and seven sacks. His 40 career tackles for loss rank fourth in school history.
A Sports Illustrated honorable mention All-American, Tulloch was named MVP of last December's Meineke Car Care Bowl in Charlotte.
In Tulloch's sophomore season, NC State fielded the nation's top ranked defense. Last year's unit was ranked 8th in the country.
He was one of five Wolfpack defensive players selected in April's draft, joining end Mario Williams (No. 1 overall), end Manny Lawson (first round), tackle John McCargo (first round) and Marcus Hudson (sixth round).
