Raleigh, N.C. - The NC State track and field team will be sending 11 individuals to the NCAA East Regional Championships hosted by North Carolina A&T this Friday and Saturday. To qualify for the NCAA Championships, individuals will automatically advance if they finish in the top-five in their event at regionals, or they can advance with an at-large bid based on marks from all four regional sites. NC State has six members from its mens team, and five members from the women's squad all looking to advance to the NCAA Championships with a good performance this weekend.
On the women's side, all five individuals will compete in different events. Ebony Foster returns to action after missing most of the outdoor season with injury and will run in the 100 meter hurdles. Angelina Blackmon will race in the 800 meters, and Jemissa Hess is in the 1,500 meters. In the distance races, Julia Lucas will compete in the 5,000 meters and Kristina Roth is in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.
On the men's side, the Pack will have multi-individuals compete in two separate events. Gavin Coombs and John Henderson will each run in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, while Chris Crawford and Mitchell Pope will compete in the shot put. Also in action this weekend, Reggie Reese will be in the 100 meters and Kevin Hutton in the 400 meter hurdles.
