CARY, N.C. - Darren Blair is tied for seventh place at three strokes under par, leading the NC State men's golf team after the first two rounds of the Courtyard by Marriott Intercollegiate. Playing in its annual home tournament, the Wolfpack is tied for eighth place Friday at the par 72 MacGregor Downs Country Club.
Blair followed a two under first round with a one under second round. Jerry Richardson fired two under in the second round and is tied for 16th at even par. Stephen Lewton carded a one under first round and is tied for 25th at one over. Nathan Spoon improved four strokes in the second round to come in six over and Taylor Crosby is also competing for the Pack.
Playing as individual, Chase Duncan carded a two under first round and is tied for 13th after the second round at one under. Garry Hill, also playing as an individual, is five over. Jace Strandberg and Wesley Tucker are also competing as individuals.
Kentucky and North Carolina are tied for first place after two rounds at nine under, one stroke ahead of Duke and the field of 14. Edward McGlasson from Colorado torched the course with a first round 64 and has a one-stroke lead over Duke's Ryan Blaum for first place heading into the final round at 10 under.
