Lewton Cards 66, Pack Fires Five Under Second Round

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Stephen Lewton carded a 66 in the second round of the Seminole Intercollegiate on Monday to lead the NC State men's golf team to a five under par round at the par 72 Golden Eagle Country Club. Lewton sits in third place at eight under with one round to play and has the Wolfpack in third place at two under.
Lewton's six under round is the lowest score by an NC State player in three years and is two strokes off the school record. The senior from Milton Keynes, England helped NC State jump three spots from the first day of the three-day, 54-hole tournament.
Jerry Richardson fired one under in the second round and is tied for 20th place, along with teammate Taylor Crosby at one over. Crosby shot even par in the second round. Nathan Spoon is tied for 25th at four over and Darren Blair is in the top 50 at plus seven.
East Tennessee State leads the field of 13 at 16 under and Dustin Johnson from Coastal Carolina is in first place individually at 11 under. The tournament concludes Tuesday with a final round of 18 holes. Complete results from the Seminole Intercollegiate are available at www.seminoles.com.
