Blair Cards 66 To Pace Wolfpack Comeback

AWENDAW, S.C. - The NC State men's golf team caught fire in the second day of the of the Hootie at Bull's Bay tournament, firing a season-best five under par second round score to vault from 13th place to sixth place with one round to go at the par 71 Bulls Bay Golf Club. Freshman Darren Blair led the Wolfpack, carding a second round 66, which ties for the third-lowest round in school history.
Stephen Lewton shot one under in the second round and is tied for 18th place at two over, just one stroke behind Blair, who is tied for eighth at one under. Jerry Richardson shot even par in the second round and is tied for 26th place at three over and Garry Hill fired one over in the second round, to bring his total to five over. Nathan Spoon, who had to disqualify his first round score on Sunday after signing an incorrect scorecard, shot two over in the second round.
Wake Forest leads the field of 15 at 16 under and the Demon Deacons' Webb Simpson is in first place individually at nine under. Action continues with a final round of 18 holes on Tuesday. Complete results from Hootie at Bulls Bay, as well as live scoring, are available at www.golfstat.com.
