NC State Wrestlers Pin Campbell, 36-15

RALEIGH, N.C. - Leading Campbell by just one point after six matches, NC State won the final four matches of the afternoon, one by forfeit, one by technical fall, and two by major decisions to make a close match a romp as the Wolfpack defeated Campbell 36-15 on Saturday at Reynolds Coliseum.
The victory lifted NC State to 9-4-1 in dual matches. Campbell dropped to 3-8.
The two teams split the first four bouts. The Wolfpack's Jeremy Hartrum (16-7 on the season) got the match underway with a 13-4 major decision over Richie Apolinar (9-14) at 125 pounds, and Garrett Cummings (9-7) pinned Campbell's Doug Locascio (0-3) at the 1:35 mark.
Campbell came right back to take a 12-10 lead on consecutive pins by Elliot Berger (2-11) over Jalil Dozier (6-17) at 141 and Steve Wiktorek (9-17) over Chris Gambino (1-3) at 149. NC State's Kody Hamrah (5-2) put the Pack back in front 16-12 by pinning Nick Amato (1-19) at 5:33 in the 157-pound match, but Campbell's Brent Poynter (17-12) made it 16-15 with an 11-9 decision over Obie Simpson (9-9).
That was the end of the match scoring for Campbell. Rick Brownlee (12-11) won at 174 by forfeit to make it 22-15, and Jeremy Colbert (14-10) got three back points just at the final buzzer to take a 21-4 technical fall over Kyle Higgins (7-16) at 184 and make it 27-15.
Ryan Goodman (16-4), wrestling for the first time since January 20 and only the second time since spraining his left knee on January 7, looked impressive in taking a 16-2 major decision over the Camels' Jason Cook (16-12) in the 197 match. Wolfpack heavyweight Jainor Palma (22-6) wrapped up the match with a 15-3 major decision over Jeremiah Fennell (15-14).
