Women's Swim & Dive Splits Meet with Hokies, Seahawks

The women's swimming and diving team (3-4, 0-3 ACC) split a dual meet with Virginia Tech and UNC Wilmington. The Wolfpack defeated UNC Wilmington, 163-135, and lost to the Hokies, 201.50-96.50.
Lindsay Barwegen (10:17.71) won the 1000 freestyle and Lauren Cranston (10:20.71) finished second in the event to get the Wolfpack off to a strong start early.
Kerry Whitson finished second in the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:53.35.
Anna Linkenauger turned in a second place performance in the 100 breast with a time of 1:07.52.
Jessica Stewart was second in the 200 breast in a time of 2:25.70 after a fourth place finish in the 100.
Lindsay Barwegen finished second in the 500 freestyle in a time of 5:05.97and Lucy Lindsey was third in the same event with a 5:08.86.
Patrice Dason was third in the 100 butterfly with a 57.32.
Linkenauger, Kathryn Creech and Stewart went 3-4-5 in the 200 IM.
The relay team of Whitson, Lindsey, Dason and Melissa Jamerino finished second in the 400 freestyle with a 3:35.02.
Emily Cheffins and Chelsea Ale finished 2-3 in the 1-meter diving competition and Ale turned in a third place finish in the 3-meter with Cheffins in fourth.
