Men's Swim & Dive Splits Meet with Hokies, Seahawks

The NC State men's swimming and diving team (3-1, 2-1 ACC) defeated UNC Wilmington (215-78) but fell to conference foe Virginia Tech (130-170) on Saturday in
Lester won the 1000 freestyle in the first individual event of the evening with a 9:30.07. He followed that up with a win in the 500 freestyle for the distance event sweep with a time of 4:38.66.
In the next event, the 200 freestyle, Mason McGee finished second with a time of 1:41.98.
Cowling won the 100 backstroke with a 49.98 and he currently has the second fastest time in the event in the ACC this season.
Roney finished second in the 100 breaststroke with a 59.20 and followed that up with a win in the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:09.69.
Mellor turned in a second place finish in the 200 butterfly (1:51.63) before winning two events later in the meet. He won the 200 back with a 1:48.97 and the 200 IM with a time of 1:53.47.
Austin Hampton won the 1-meter boards and finished second in the 3-meter boards for NC State.
The Wolfpack turned in second place finishes in the 200 medley relay and the 400 freestyle relay.
