Jones, Velez Impressive at US Open

Cullen Jones finished second in the 100 freestyle and Dan Velez again swam in the finals of an event as the former Wolfpack swimming duo competed at the prestigious US Open.
Jones finished second in the 100 freestyle with a 50.15, trailing only multiple Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps in the event. Jones won the 50 freestyle yesterday at the
Velez finished eighth in the finals of the 200 breaststroke with a 2:21.02, a day after posting a fourth place finish in the 100 breaststroke, an event that Velez holds the second best time ever for the Wolfpack.
