Women's Swim & Dive Falls to Duke, Maryland

The NC State women’s swimming and diving team (2-3, 0-2 ACC) fell to a pair of ACC teams on Saturday. The Wolfpack fell to the Duke Blue Devils, 160-138, and lost to Maryland, 171-119. The women’s team had six second place finishes and freshman Anna Linkenauger won the 200 backstroke and finished second in the 200 IM to lead the Pack.
Linkenauger has had a strong start to her rookie season as she won her first event of the season in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:07.08. She finished in the top-3 in all five of her previous swims this season. She also finished second in the 200 IM against Duke and Maryland with a time of 2:08.56.
Senior Lindsay Barwegen was second in the 1000 freestyle in a time of 10:15.65 to continue to top her previous best performance this season. She finished second in the 500 freestyle as well, swimming a 5:05.30, the second fastest time on the season in the event.
Sophomore Lucy Lindsey swam a 1:54.56 to finish second in the 200 freestyle.
Freshman diver Emily Cheffins finished second in the 1-meter diving event with a score of 279.50.
Freshman Patrice Dason turned in a strong performance in the 100 butterfly in a time of 57.00, finishing second.
