Women's Swim 10th After Second Day of Terp Cup

The NC State women's swimming and diving team is in 10th at the Terrapin Cup Invitational in College Park, Md. with 149 team points. The final day of the tough tournament concludes on Saturday.
The 200 medley relay team of Erica Smith, Jessica Stewart, Patrice Dason and Kerry Whitson swam a 1:47.58 to take eight in the opening event of the day.
Anna Linkenauger finished fifth with a time of 4:25.42, an impressive time that puts her second in the ACC in the event this season. It was the sixth fastest time in school history. Kathryn Creech finished seventh in the event, a time that ranks eighth in school history.
Dason continues to shine as a freshman, swimming a 56.24 in the 100 butterfly, a time that ranks fourth in the ACC currently and puts her sixth in school history.
Kerry Whitson finished fifth in the 200 free with a time of 1:51.81, the eighth fastest time in the ACC this season.
In the final event of the day, Lindsay Barwegen, Creech, Lucy Lindsey and Whitson finished sixth in the 800 freestyle with a time of 7:32.99.
