The NC State women’s swimming and diving squad will hit the pool this Friday to kick off the 2006-07 season. The Wolfpack will play host to Campbell and Gardner Webb at 5:00 pm this Friday, Oct. 20 at the Casey Aquatics Center. It marks the first meet for each of the three teams, and NC State will look to use a mixture of talented upperclassmen with a strong freshmen class to build on its 2005-06 season.
All-ACC swimmer Kerry Whitson and top-10 ACC finisher Lindsay Barwegen return to anchor the team, as the seniors will be joined by fellow classmates Amy Baskwell, Melissa Jamerino and Laura Neely.
The freshmen class is large and talented, with 15 members of the 29 total female swimmers being freshmen.
After this home meet, the women’s team will hit the road until returning to action on January 13th as the men and women host South Carolina.
