Wolfpack Swimming & Diving Holds Red & White Meet

The NC State women's and men's swimming and diving teams will hold its annual Red & White meet this Friday, Oct. 13 at
Assistant coaches Christopher Woodard and Jacqui McLaughlin (who is the associate head coach for the women's team) will also be on hand for their second and third seasons, respectively.
Barwegen is one of the top performers on the team, swimming in the distance events and posting top ACC times week in and week out. She is also a valuable swimmer in the individual medley teams.
Whitson returns as one of the top freestylers in the conference after earning all-ACC honors last season.
Mellor, who sat out last season under NCAA rules, broke the school record – twice – in the 200 backstroke in time trial events and will be one of the top swimmers for the Wolfpack. Mellor is only a redshirt sophomore and has shown his value to the team in and out of the pool.
Crowder, only a junior, is a freestyle specialist who will continue to add depth to the events and be a leader for this team.
Other swimmers to watch are backstroke specialists Erica Smith for the women and Steve Cowling for the men. Andrew Lester had a strong breakout season as a freshman in the distance freestyle events and will also contribute in the individual medley.
Divers Austin Hampton and Alexander Dambly return for their sophomore seasons after each put a top score in the top-10 of the ACC results last season.
Lucy Lindsey will be a standout once again in the freestyle events for the women's team.
