RALEIGH, N.C. - Sophomore diver, Natalie Swisher, is an accomplished young lady, placing third or better in many of her diving events. She was also named to the ACC Honor Roll last year. Swisher sat down with gopack.com to talk about her life away from the diving board.
What is the best part of being a student athlete here at NC State?
I really like that I am able to meet people from all sorts of different backgrounds that I probably would not encounter if we weren't all brought together for athletics.
If you could be someone famous for a day, who would it be and why?
I would be Shaq [O'Neal] because I could slam dunk a basketball, play with all his speedy cars, jump all over his Superman bed that's 30 feet in diameter and well, he's Shaq!
What is your favorite TV channel and why?
I really like the Disney and ABC Family channels because I still enjoy the same shows as I did when I was 11.
What are three words that describe you?
Dependable, nice and funny.
What is your favorite song and why?
I am currently obsessed with "Photograph" by Nickleback because I basically love everything about the song.
Other than the sport that you participate in, what other sport would you like to play here at NC State?
If I were bigger, I would love to be one of the linemen on the football team. I think it would be fun to tackle someone as hard as you could without getting in trouble for it. Not that I would want to beat anyone up, but once in a while it would be fun to knock down a 250 pound man.
If you could be on any magazine cover, which one would it be?
I guess People.
Your perfect meal consists of...
Macaroni and cheese, a hot dog, green beans, apple sauce, a banana and ice cream.
What makes your sport so exciting for you... what about it exhilarates you?
The feeling you get right after you land a hard or scary dive; nothing can compare to it.
When you are eating lunch on campus, where is your favorite place to eat?
I've only eaten at Case for lunch, so I guess there.
