Former NC State golfer, Carl Pettersson, followed up a 21st place finish at the Mercedes Championships Jan. 8 at The Plantation Course at Kapalua in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii, with a tie for tenth place at the Sony Open Jan. 15 at the Waialae Country Club in Hawaii.

Pettersson shot seven under par, earning $127,000 at the Sony Open and won $84,000 at the Mercedes Championship. Beginning his sixth year on the PGA Tour, Pettersson finished 20th on the money list last season with three top ten finishes, including a win at the Chrysler Championship. He is currently playing at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, Jan. 16-22 at Classic Club Bermuda Dunes PGA WEST in Palm Desert, Calif., which is being televised on USA and ABC.
