CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Fernando Mechereffe, a former All-ACC golfer for NC State, shot rounds of 64 and 69 going into the final round of the Tarheel Professional Tour's Coulter Real Estate Classic, but Thursday's final round was rained out. Trailing the leader by two strokes, Mechereffe finished in second place at the Par 72 South Course at the Raintree Country Club to win $5,000, pushing his tour-leading winnings to $28,239.58.

Another former Wolfpack golfer, David Sanchez, was in action at the tournament as well.
