Gunning Regionally Qualifies In 1,500m

ATLANTA - The NC State men's and women's outdoor track & field teams closed out the regular season at Georgia Tech's Reebok Invitational this weekend and qualified two more individuals for the NCAA Regional Championships. Dexter Adams regionally qualified in the long jump with a leap of 24-2 1/2 for third place and Renee Gunning added the 1,500m to her list of events that she has qualified for.
Already regionally qualified in the 5,000m and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 10,000m, Gunning posted a 4:27.51 for 12th place in the 1,500m, qualifying for NCAA regionals. Julia Lucas improved her regional-qualifying time in the 1,500m with a 4:20.03 for fifth place and Magin Kebert ran took eighth in the 1,500m with another regional-qualifying time of 4:24.87. Angelina Blackmon just missed the regional qualifying mark in the 1,500m, taking 13th place with a 4:28.38 and Kristina Roth competed in the race as well.
Andy Smith ran another regional qualifying time in the men's 1,500m, placing seventh with a 3:44.77 and Michael Hill posted another regional qualifying mark of 49-7 1/4 in the triple jump. Chris Kollar and John Crews also competed in the 1,500m and Chris Crawford took 14th place in the hammer throw.
Ebony Foster improved upon her regional-qualifying time in the 100m hurdles with a 13.06 for first place. Foster also ran a 24.30 for 15th place in the 200m. Tabitha Woodard tied for seventh in the pole vault with a mark of 11-5 3/4, Mattie Bethea placed ninth in the high jump with a mark of 5-7 and Laila Thomas tied for 13th in the high jump at 5-5.
