HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. - The NC State men's golf team began play Friday in its annual home tournament, the Courtyard by Marriott Intercollegiate, but had to battle thunderstorms all day in addition to the other 14 teams in a field that features eight top 50 squads. Originally scheduled for two rounds of 18 holes on Friday followed by a third round of 18 on Saturday at the par 72 Devils Ridge Golf Club, the second round was suspended and will be completed Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. The third round has been cancelled.
Georgia Southern's Aron Price carded a tournament low 64 in the first round to lead the field and to also help his team take a six-stroke lead at 15-under-par. NC State is tied for sixth after 18 holes and the Wolfpack's Taylor Crosby is tied for sixth at three-under.
