NC State Men's Golf Takes Third At ACC Championship

NEW LONDON, N.C. - The NC State men's golf team torched the back nine Sunday to finish even par in the final round of the ACC Championship, taking third place ahead of No. 14 Wake Forest, No. 27 Clemson and No. 37 North Carolina. Garry Hill carded a one-under third round to lead the Wolfpack on the final day at the par-72 Old North State Club at Uwharrie Point. Banks Wood and Jerry Richardson both tied for eighth place individually at three-over for the tournament.
All five Wolfpack golfers finished in the top 25 individually. Wood and Taylor Crosby both shot par in the final round, while Richardson and Stephen Lewton came in one-over. Richardson shot 73 in all three rounds. Lewton birdied the 18th hole to finish one-under on the back nine Sunday. All three of Crosby's third round birdies came on the back nine as he went two-under on the backside. Hill birdied four holes the final day, going three-under on the back nine.
Duke won the championship, beating the 10-team and Blue Devils' Ryan Blaum was the individual medalist, finishing 10-under-par.
