
Wolfpack Tied For Eighth At Lady Gamecock Classic

BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. - The NC State women's golf team is tied for eighth place with one round to go at the Lady Gamecock Classic. Coming in 38-over-par in the second round Saturday, the Wolfpack was led by Lorraine Ballerano, who shot nine-over at the par 72, 5,996-yard University Club.
Ballerano, who is +17 for the tournament, is tied for 24th place and is two strokes ahead of teammate Ashlee Dean, who is tied for 33rd. Nancy Mountcastle and Molly Birmingham both carded 10-over scores in the second round. Mountcastle is +20 and tied for 35th, while Birmingham is 24-over after two rounds. Stephanie Derrey shot a second round 86 and is also 24-over going into the final round.
New Mexico leads the 12-team field at 45-over and the Lobos' Kailin Downs is tied for first place with Caroline Rominger of South Carolina at four-over. The Lady Gamecock Classic concludes Sunday with a final round of 18 holes. Complete results and live scoring are available at www.golfstat.com.
