Gunning Named ACC Performer of the Week

Renee Gunning was named the ACC Women's Indoor Track & Field Performer of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - NC State's Renee Gunning was selected the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Performer of the Week today.

Gunning registered a pair of top-three finishes in the 3000m and 5000m run events over the weekend at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational in New York. The senior from Perkasie, Ohio finished second in the 5K running an automatic qualifying time of 16:06.37, which sits as the fastest time in the league and third fastest in the nation. In the 3K, Gunning crossed the finished line in third at 9:22.86 meeting NCAA provisional qualifying standards. Her time in the 3000m is the second fastest record in the ACC this season.

The Wolfpack travels to Blacksburg, Va., this weekend to compete in Virginia Tech Challenge.
