Wolfpack Women Seventh After First Day of Swimming ACC Championships

ATLANTA, Ga. - The NC State women's swimming and diving team is in seventh place after two events on the first day of competition. In the 800 freestyle relay, NC State finished 10th, but quickly rebounded with a sixth place showing in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:47.63. Kendall Smith swam the backstroke leg at 27.99 to kick off the relay, with Halle Kiehlmier, Laura Cutler and Melissa Jamerino finishing the relay off.
Maryland leads after the first day, scoring 80 points. Virginia stands second after the first day of competition with 68 points, leading North Carolina by four points (64). Rounding out the field are Clemson (52), Duke (48), Miami (46), NC State (40), Florida State (30), Georgia Tech (28) and Virginia Tech (26).
