Wolfpack Softball Top ACC School Academically

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State's softball team is the recipient of National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Academic Team honors for its performance in the classroom during the 2004-05 academic year. As a team, the Wolfpack players totaled a 3.152 cumulative GPA to rank 45th among all Division I teams. NC State was also tops in the ACC in the rankings for the second straight season.

A total of 82 Division I teams garnered All-Academic Team accolades, and the NFCA All-Academic Team awards are based on cumulative team grade-point averages submitted by NFCA member head coaches for the 2004-05 academic year.

NC State head coach Lisa Navas' squad just completed its fall slate with a 2-0-1 record, and will begin play in its third season as a program in Feb. 2006.
