Orlay Bows Out at Wilson/ITA Southeast Regional

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Women's tennis senior Barbara Orlay ended her stay at the Wilson/ITA Southeast Regional in Chapel Hill, N.C., on Sunday, Oct. 16. Competing in the quarterfinals of the main draw, Orlay fell to Kim Coventry of Kentucky in a hard-fought bout. After dropping the first set, Orlay stormed back to collect the second frame and make things interesting. Coventry regrouped in the third and final set to collect the match, 7-5, 3-6, 7-5. Orlay leaves the tournament with three wins and a 9-4 overall fall singles record.
The NC State women's tennis team will take next week off before wrapping up its fall slate by competing at the University of South Carolina Fall Invitational in Columbia, S.C., Friday, Oct. 28, though Sunday, Oct. 30.
