MYTRLE BEACH, S.C. - PGA Professional Stephen Isley's game was set on cruise control during the final day of competition at the 2004 South Carolina Open Presented by Murray Bros. Caddyshack held at The Grande Dunes Golf Club in Myrtle Beach, SC. Isley, of the Players Club at St. James Plantation, blitzed the field on the first two days with rounds of 66 and 65 to enter Day 3 with a seven stroke lead at thirteen under par. This gap gave Isley all the comfort he needed to play sensible golf and not go for broke. He made two birdies on hole numbers 3 and 12 to shoot 37-37=74 (+2) to bring his three-day total to 205 (-11) and earn a four-stroke victory. A member of the NC State men's golf team from 1989-91, Isley helped the Wolfpack win the 1990 ACC Championship. A 1991 All-ACC selection, Isley also earned all-district honors that year. The individual medalist at the 1991 Cavalier Classic, Isley is tied for second place in the school record books with a 65 that he carded in the first round of the 1991 ACC Championship. A participant in three straight NCAA Championships, Isley helped the Pack tie for 14th place in 1990 and again in 1991. Complete Results from the 2004 South Carolina Open Presented by Murray Bros.
