Raleigh, N.C. - The NC State track and field team was in action this past weekend competed at the Duke Invitational.
Ebony Foster broke her own school record in the 100 meter hurdles, winning the event with a time of 13.12. That time also qualifies Foster for the NCAA Regionals. Joya Rodgers placed 22nd in the 100 meters running a 12.34 and Courtney Patterson was 25th (12.44). Foster was first in the prelims with a time of 11.84, but did not run in the finals. In the 200 meters, Patterson was 25th (25.52) while Rodgers took 35th (25.95). In the 1,500 meters, Lucinda Hull was 28th (4:41.01), Claudin Hull was 30th (4:41.21), and Janelle Vadnais took 43rd (4:45.99). Vadnais was also 14th in the 3,000 meters (10:11.72).
Joann Jackson took seventh in the high jump by clearing 5'05.75", and Lailia Thomas was 14th with a mark of 5'03.75". Kelly Smoke was fourth i the discus (146'05") and eighth in the shot put (44'07"). Brie Ward was 16th in the discus (127'07") and 28th in the shot put (36'07.50"). Also in the throws, in the hammer, Smoke was 14th (149'05") and Ward took 21st (139'04"). Tabitha Woodard was 20th in the high jump clearing 10'04". In the long jump, Sheena Dawkins was 20th (17'06.75"), and Laila Thomas was 36th (16'10.75").
Eric Hoverdstad was eighth in the high jump, clearing 15'01". Mitchell Pope finished second in the shot put with a heave of 53'00.25", and Chris Crawford was 23rd (40'04"). James Rowell placed third in the discus with a mark of 168'04", while Pope was 25th (133'10"). In the hammer, Pope was 17th (145'11") and Crawford took 20th (142'02").
Monterrio Adams placed seventh in the 400 meters with a time of 47.33, and was 11th in the 100 meters (10.82). Antwan Graves was 31st in the 110 meter hurdles (15.62). In the 400 meter hurdles, Kevin Davis took 17th (56.62) and Jeff Baird was 32nd (58.89).
