The transition from defense to offense did work out for Sean Locklear after all. The NC State guard became the 84th pick overall in the NFL Draft on Saturday when he was taken in the 3rd round by the Seattle Seahawks. In Seattle, Locklear will be reunited with former Wolfpack wide receiver Koren Robinson, who just concluded his third year with the Seahawks.
Locklear, a Lumberton, N.C. native, started his career at NC State on the defensive side of the ball where he played both tackle and end.
Following the 2001 campaign, he was moved to the offensive line and eventually became one of the ACC's most versatile linemen.
Locklear, who earned his degree in Sports Management last December, started his last 27 games at NC State, spending time at both guard and tackle.
