NC State men's tennis downed Charlotte, 7-0, on Monday, March 8 at the varsity courts on the NC State campus in Raleigh, N.C. With the win, NC State improves to 4-6 on the season. The Wolfpack won all six singles matches and all three doubles matches for the win.
One match after defeating the No. 13 player in the country, Conor Taylor fought back to win the final two sets after dropping the first. Will Shaw and Val Banada were the only two players who were on the roster last year to compete in singles. The won in straight sets at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
Besides Taylor, three other newcomers picked up wins as Andre Iriarte, William Noblitt and Dennis Myers won at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6.
The men's tennis team will swing into action this weekend as they travel to the Blue-Grey Classic in Alabama.
