
Wolfpack Falls to No. 12 North Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The NC State women's tennis team fell in its dual match showdown with No. 12 North Carolina on Wednesday, losing 7-0. Barbara Orlay battled at No. 1 singles, losing in three sets to No. 29 Aniela Mojzis. Mojzis and Cline form the No. 23 doubles team, and they took the win at No. 1 with a 8-1 win over Kristin Lam and Orlay of NC State.
North Carolina showed why they are ranked No. 12 in the country by taking the doubles point with an 8-1 win at No. 1 and No. 3, and a 8-2 win at No. 2. In singles, North Carolina powered past NC State, despite strong efforts for Kristin Lam and Vania Apodaca. Lam lost the first set at No. 2, but rebounded strong in the second, almost forcing a third set with a 7-6 second set defeat.
Apodaca was strong early in her match, dropping only in the tiebreak at No. 5, 7-6 before falling in straight sets.
