
Orlay Defeats No. 7 Player Nationally Against No. 3 Duke

Durham, N.C. - NC State fell to No. 3 Duke in ACC tennis, 6-1, on Wednesday, but the Wolfpack's Barbara Orlay continues to impress, winning at No. 1 singles against the countries No. 7 player, Amanda Johnson. The reigning ACC player of the week, Orlay defeated Johnson 6-3 in the first set before falling 6-2 in the second. The third set was decided by tiebreak, as Orlay defeated Johnson.
NC State lost the doubles point to fall behind early, and Jennifer Jassawalla battled at No. 3 singles, falling by a single break in the second set.
The Wolfpack will host Richmond on Saturday afternoon at 3 pm at the Varsity Courts in a tennis doubleheader with the men, who take on Georgia Tech at 11 am.
