Lewton Tied For 16th After Round Two

DALTON, Ga. - Stephen Lewton carded a one-over-par score of 73 Saturday in the second round of the Carpet Capital Collegiate to lead the NC State men's golf team. An improvement of four strokes from his first round performance, Lewton is tied for 16th place going into the final round at six-over. The Wolfpack shaved eight strokes off its first round score in the second round, but still slipped two spots to 18th place.
Jerry Richardson shot six-over in the second round and is now tied for 37th at eight-over. Garry Hill and Banks Wood both knocked four strokes off their first round totals in the second round and Jace Strandberg improved by a stroke as well.
Georgia pushed its lead to six strokes and Luke List from Vanderbilt fired a second round 69 to move into first place individually at two-under. The Carpet Capital Collegiate concludes Sunday with a final round of 18 holes. Complete results and live scoring are available at www.golfstat.com.
