RALEIGH, N.C. - Following a two year stint at Glendale Community College, junior Tess Corona moved to Raleigh, N.C. to join head coach Lisa Navas' Wolfpack softball program in time for their second year of competition. A native of Flagstaff, Ariz., Corona recently sat down with GoPack.com and offered Pack softball fans a first opportunity to get to know her.
Q: What is your full name?
A: "Tess Corona."
Q: Where are you from originally?
A: "Flagstaff, Ariz."
Q: What position do you play?
A: "I play both second base and short stop."
Q: What are you studying at State?
A: "My major is English education."
Q: Why did you chose to come to NC State?
A: "I've always wanted to play Division I softball and be a part of something great."
Q: Question and answer sessions always wind up with favorites. Who is your favorite musician?
A: "Kenny Chesney."
Q: How about movie?
A: "Old School."
Q: What was the last movie you watched?
A: "50 First Dates."
Q: What was the last book you read?
A: "Nicholas Sparks' "The Wedding."
Q: Favorite television show?
A: "Will and Grace."
Q: Are there any TV shows that you wouldn't admit to watching?
A: "Yes! Horward Stern."
Q: What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
A: "I love going to Lake Powell. It's just beautiful there."
Q: Everyone has a favorite place on campus. What's yours?
A: "I like Case the most."
Q: On to sports. Do you have a favorite pro sports team?
A: "I am a big Denver Broncos fan."
Q: Favorite athlete?
A: "Matt Mantai."
Q: Back to getting personal. Who is someone that you admire a lot?
A: "I really admire my brother."
Q: Do you have any big fears?
A: "My biggest fear is growing old and being alone."
Q: What do you like about NC State?
A: "I love the people here. Everyone is so nice and easy to get along with."
Q: What do you like about the softball team?
A: "We have a lot of good times together. I've already created a lot of memories with these girls and I haven't even been here for a whole year yet."
Q: What is something most people don't know about you?
A: "My favorite snack is peanut butter toast."
Q: Do you have any pre-game superstitions or rituals?
A: "I eat a Snickers Marathon bar and listen to some music."
