Three Men's Golfers Finish Tournament In Top 25

SOMIS, Calif. - The NC State men's golf team shaved two more strokes off its third round score at the Club Glove Intercollegiate Tuesday to finish in ninth place at 26-over-par. The Wolfpack was in 11th place after the second round in the 12-team field playing the par-72, 6,858-yard Saticoy Country Club. Three members of NC State's team finished in the top 25 as Banks Wood tied for 13th, Stephen Lewton tied for 19th and Jerry Richardson tied for 23rd.
Wood shot par in the last two rounds and finished two-over. Lewton carded a one-under score in the final round and finished four-over. Richardson shot one-under in the second round and one-over in the final round to end up five-over. Chase Duncan and Andrew Byrd both competed in their first collegiate tournament.
Pepperdine, the host team and two-time defending champion, won the tournament with an even-par score and Colt Knost from SMU was the individual medalist at four-under. The Wolfpack returns to action Oct. 25-26 when it competes in the Isleworth Invitational at Isleworth Country Club in Windermere, Fla.
