NC State Volleyball To Meet Campbell Tuesday Night

The NC State volleyball team will step out of conference play Tuesday night and look to add another to the win column when it faces Campbell at Reynolds Coliseum at 7 p.m. The Wolfpack enters the match with an overall record of 6-16, while the Camels are at 2-19.
Junior middle blocker Maya Mapp is coming off a strong weekend, where she tallied 21 kills against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents Wake Forest and Duke. On the year, Mapp is second on the team with 190 kills, while also leading the team with 81 total blocks. Freshman outside hitter Julia Reis has added quality strength offensively with a team-best 234 kills, and junior middle blocker Paige Gilliam has helped anchor the Wolfpack's defense with an average of 1.08 blocks a game.
Also stepping up defensviley is senior libero Caroline Frede, whose ability to run the back row has helped tremendously as she leads the team with 265 digs thus far. Freshmen setters Melissa Rabe and Bruna Maraccini have too been useful for head coach Mary Byrne, as the duo has combined for 141 assists and 43 digs.
Campbell's offense is sparked by rightside Rachel Templin and outside hitter Che Cochrane, who each enter Tuesday with 153 kills. Meanwhile, middle hitter Brittany Rusin and libero Alissa Brackeen lead the defense. Rusin has a team-best 62 total blocks and Brackeen is the team's leader in digs with 160. Setter Tawnee Hensel has dished out 471 assists thus far.
