RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State volleyball assistant coach Rob Browning will depart the Wolfpack to join League One Volleyball (LOVB) Austin, as announced by head coach Megan Wargo-Kearney Wednesday morning.
It has been an absolute pleasure working with Rob this past year. While he was only here a short time, his impact on myself, our staff, and student-athletes was immense, said Wargo-Kearney. His experience, leadership and knowledge were invaluable to me during my first year as a head coach. We wish him nothing but the best in this next chapter of his career as he heads to Austin to work with LOVB, in addition to continuing his work with USA Volleyball.
Browning joined the Pack in spring of 2025 after spending two decades in California as the head coach of the St. Mary's College women's volleyball coach. In addition to his commitment to the Gaels, he has spent almost three decades working with USA Volleyball for both the men and women. He made an appearance at four Olympic games (Sydney, Athens, Beijing, and London) with the men's national team. Mostt recently, he served as the manager for the women's national team for the VNL Tour over the summer.
Browning said, 2025 will forever be the year of the Wolfpack for me and my family. I couldn't be happier with the experience I had at NC State. Everything about it, starting with the outstanding coaches, student-athletes, support staff, and extending to the NC State community, was positive and created an indelible bank of positive memories for me. If I was able to make a positive impact on NC State Volleyball, then it was a win-win, because NC State Volleyball, and the greater Wolfpack family, has made an enormous positive impact on me and my family. Count us among the newest enthusiastic members of the Wolfpack!
