Men's Soccer Loses at Duke 3-0

Durham, N.C. - Date: October 10, 2003 The NC State men's soccer team lost to Duke 3-0 Friday night in Durham. Duke junior Nigi Adogwa recorded his first career hat trick as the Blue Devils improve to 3-8-1 and 1-3 in the ACC. The Wolfpack fell to 6-6, 2-3 in the ACC, and was shutout for the second straight game. Next up for the Wolfpack is a showdown with No. 3 North Carolina next Sunday, October 19, at 3:30 p.m. at Method Road.
Adogwa scored his first goal in the 35th minute, when he headed in a cross from Blake Camp. The score would remain 1-0 through the first half. Adogwa would strike again in the 53rd minute after he knocked in a rebound right in front of the Wolfpack net. Adogwa's third score of the game came in the 69th minute to conclude the scoring.
Duke outshot NC State 20-5 for the game. Wolfpack keeper Jorge Gonzalez set a career-high with 10 saves on the day.
NC State will battle ACC for No. 3 North Carolina next Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Method Road.
